A message from our Principal

Bumpus Family--

I hope you all are enjoying this beautiful weather! We have five more school days until a much-needed spring break. I know all staff and students are ready!

This week, we will be recognizing Disability Awareness Week! We will have some small dress-up days and events this week. Please see below for more information. Monday will kick off with wearing purple.

This week, we will send a special message about ACAP testing and include some preparation items. Please look for that for some helpful reminders and information.

Report cards will go live in PowerSchool on March 20th.

Please scroll through this whole newsletter for updates. We appreciate everyone's continued support.

If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to email or call me.

With Pride,
Dr. Andrea Fordham

Important Messages from the School Nurses

Wellness Prevention

As cold and flu season is upon us, it is especially important that we do all we can to prevent the spread of germs. Below are some helpful tips from the school nurses on wellness prevention:

  • Frequent and thorough hand washing with soap and warm, running water is our best line of defense against the spread of germs.
  • Avoid touching your eyes, nose, or mouth. Germs are often spread when a person touches a surface or object contaminated with germs and then touches his or her eyes, nose, or mouth.
  • Cover your nose and mouth with a tissue when you cough or sneeze, and throw the tissue in the trash after you use it.
  • If your child has a fever, they should remain at home. Children must be fever-free without the use of fever-reducing medications for 24 hours before returning to school. This will help prevent the spread of illnesses to others. Click here to see when to keep your child home from school.
By working together, we can maintain a clean and healthy environment for our students and staff and limit the spread of germs. This also helps to prevent the sharing of germs with our family and friends outside of school. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact your school nurse for guidance.
