Writing Bucs Group

Do You Have A Passion for Writing?
Do You Want To Improve Your Creative Writing Skills?
Join our after-school writing group, The Writing Bucs. We meet twice a month, after school on Mondays from 3:30 to 5:00pm.

You must apply to join, and if you are accepted, you will: 

  • receive free instruction from a published and professional writer-
  • develop your passion by writing for pleasure-
  • improve your overall writing skills-
  • improve your communication and critical thinking skills.

There are only 10 spots available.  Please fill out this form and email Mrs. Burbridge a piece of your own original writing: wburbridge@hoover.k12.al.us 

You can send any kind of writing you think shows off your writing talent. It can be a poem, a short story, or an essay. Just be sure Mrs. Burbridge is able to open your attachments and read your writing.

Deadline to apply is October 1, 2025, by 3:30pm.

Once you complete the application, you'll receive an email on or before Monday, October 6, if your application has been accepted.
Our first Meeting will be on Monday, October 20, from 3:30-5:00pm in A123.  
We will meet every other Monday (2x a month) until May.
