A message from our Principal

Bumpus Family--

Once again, we had a full week! Lots of celebrations and fun activities. We are counting down to spring break. 10 school days! We are all feeling it. Please help us by encouraging your student to be focused and engaged.

The 9 weeks end this Friday. Please take the time to check your child's PowerSchool. If they are missing assignments or tests, now is the time for the students to see their teachers to schedule a time to make them up.

Moving Up Day was great! The halls and classrooms were full of excitement and curiosity.

Below you will find information about Multicultural Day! Please let Mrs. Efurd know if you can assist in any way.

The generosity of our Bumpus Family blows me away! Within 24 hours, the Amazon Wishlist for our new teacher space was completely bought. We will be unveiling the final product very soon. Your generosity moved me to tears. If you missed the opportunity, don’t worry. There will be more opportunities.

Please scroll through this whole newsletter for updates. We appreciate everyone's continued support.

If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to email or call me.

With Pride,
Dr. Andrea Fordham

Important Messages from the School Nurses

Wellness Prevention

As cold and flu season is upon us, it is especially important that we do all we can to prevent the spread of germs. Below are some helpful tips from the school nurses on wellness prevention:

  • Frequent and thorough hand washing with soap and warm, running water is our best line of defense against the spread of germs.
  • Avoid touching your eyes, nose, or mouth. Germs are often spread when a person touches a surface or object contaminated with germs and then touches his or her eyes, nose, or mouth.
  • Cover your nose and mouth with a tissue when you cough or sneeze, and throw the tissue in the trash after you use it.
  • If your child has a fever, they should remain at home. Children must be fever-free without the use of fever-reducing medications for 24 hours before returning to school. This will help prevent the spread of illnesses to others. Click here to see when to keep your child home from school.
By working together, we can maintain a clean and healthy environment for our students and staff and limit the spread of germs. This also helps to prevent the sharing of germs with our family and friends outside of school. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact your school nurse for guidance.
