I hope you all are having a wonderful weekend. I apologize for this newsletter being sent out a day later than usual. I hope you all are looking forward to a nice Thanksgiving Break. I know our faculty and staff are excited for the upcoming week off. Remember, there is no school from November 24th to 28th.
If you missed our play this weekend, Willy Wonka Junior, you missed a fantastic show. I attended both shows on Saturday, and they had amazing crowds. Thank you to all who were able to come out! Mr. Gerontakis, his cast, and crew all did a fantastic job. A special thanks to the parents who helped in all areas. All of our programs at Bumpus rely on the overwhelming support from parents. Thank you to all!
We are hosting a non-perishable food drive. November 21st is the deadline. Please consider bringing food for your student to donate to the cause.
Attention Parents of 8th Grade Students! The message below is from Dr. England at Hoover High School about the event tomorrow night. She asked that we make sure parents understand the purpose: Charting the Course-Advanced Pathways night is not Curriculum Night. Curriculum Night will still be held on February 3rd and will be the same as last year. Tomorrow night's event will focus more on the Advanced Level courses and how to know which path to take. We will be discussing AP, IB, and Dual Enrollment. I just wanted to ensure that parents know that much of the information will be geared toward the upper-level courses, rather than the entry-level courses.
Parents, please remember that every morning from 7:30 to 8:20, our media center is open for students to complete work, study, or receive extra help with their assignments. There are teachers available to help. Your students do not need to have a pass. It is a quiet place for them to work, if needed, before school starts.
Progress reports went LIVE for Q2 on Friday, November 14th.
I hope you all have an excellent rest of the weekend! Remember, I am a phone call or email away if you need anything.
With Pride,
Andrea Fordham
