Per usual, we had another great week, and the signs of fall are starting to show. This week is four days, and then we have a wonderful break on the horizon. Please remember there is no school for students from October 10th to 14th. Students return on October 15th.
This week is school spirit week, and there is a graphic in this e-news. I look forward to seeing everyone coming together for some fun.
Speaking of fun… Color Run is Thursday, October 9th. You can still pay for your child to participate. This is our largest and ONLY fundraiser for the year. On Monday, October 6th, PTO will be on campus if you would like to send money with your child. The cost is $40. If you write a check, please make it out to Bumpus Middle School and include one phone number. As always, you can also pay on My School Fees. If your child does not pay, they will not participate.
I would be remiss if I didn’t mention that the end of the 9 weeks is quickly approaching. Please check your students' PowerSchool accounts, and ask if they have completed all assignments.
Parents, especially parents of 7th-grade students, please speak to your children about appropriate things to say to friends. Making threatening statements, even if they did not mean them, will result in consequences. Our assistant principals and counselors spend a lot of time handling these situations. It seems like students have traded making inappropriate comments on social media using their cell phone during school, to actually saying it to each other's faces. This is not what we wanted when we said that students need to talk more to each other. I appreciate you having this conversation with your child.
