Bumpus Family--

I hope your weekend is off to a great start. If you are like me, you are ready for cooler weather. Progress reports are officially posted in Power School. Please take the time to review your child's grades. If you do not know how to log in, you can contact our registrar, but for now, simply ask your child to log in to their Chromebook and pull up PowerSchool. They know exactly what to do. 

We are less than a month away from Color Run!
This is a fun run course (not a race) with 6 color stations running on and near the campus of Bumpus Middle School! Please complete the Color Run Google Form. You MUST ALSO fill out the form on My School Fees to pay for the Color Run. So there are two requirements.

COST: $35.00 for early registration by 9/23. The price will increase to $40 on 9/24. 
  • Registration includes: 1 individual color packet and a Bumpus Color Run T-Shirt!
*** If paying by check, please make the check payable to Bumpus Middle School. 

***CASH OR CHECK AT THE SCHOOL on 9/22/25 or 10/6/25***

On September 25th, we will wear yellow or gold to support awareness for childhood cancer.

HooverTogether Workshop

HooverTogether is hosting its first workshop of the year on Tuesday, September 16, at 6 PM at the Hoover Met Banquet Room. HooverTogether’s goal is to unite the community by fostering partnerships and providing resources that empower individuals and families to thrive.

Leadership Bumpus

Leadership Bumpus Graphic.
Bumpus’ student leadership initiative, which focuses on building leadership skills through service, has chosen to serve one of our community organizations, "Ady's Big Army."
 
We have the opportunity to support this organization in their fundraising efforts. As part of this fundraising event, teams are gathering donations, and the team that raises the most will win first place with a party catered by Chick-fil-A and recognition on WVTM-13!

Please consider supporting our students as they work to gather the most donations for Ady’s Army so they can win first place while growing their leadership skills through service in our community.

LOST AND FOUND

PLEASE be sure to send your children to check the Lost and Found area for missing water bottles and lunch boxes. These items seem to multiply in Lost and Found daily.

Please also LABEL all items with First and Last names. If items are labeled with names-- even water bottles-- they can be returned to the student.

All unclaimed and unlabeled items will be donated to charity once the bins are full.

BUCS Serve- Community Service Information

In an effort to keep to our Bumpus Core Values of responsibility and integrity-- only students can access the sign-up form using their HCS email. Parents, please have your student sign up for their community service dates and discuss when they can serve with you.
If you missed the Information Meeting– Please join the Bucs Serve Google Classroom and find out how to join us to serve. Join our BUCS Serve Google Classroom in order to participate: osuzb6c If you attended the meeting– join the Google Classroom if you have not done so AND turn your orange contracts into the Red Basket outside of A122 or put them in Mrs. Burbridge/Mrs. Stanton’s mailboxes in the 1st Floor Teacher Workroom.
Community Service Reminders: If you are planning to do community service at Bumpus this year, or you are planning to serve in our community to get your 60 hours for the Community Service Award– you must complete an Orange Community Service Contract before you submit your hours for the Award. Only Students can access the Bucs Serve Google Form to sign up for Bumpus dates using their HCS email address Teal 25-26 Community Service forms and Orange Contracts can be found outside of A122 in the hanging baskets by the door. Completed contracts can be turned into the Completed Forms basket also outside A122.

The Hope for Autumn Junior Board is open to high school students and middle school students who are passionate about making a difference in the lives of children battling cancer. Hoover Bucs Mountain Bike Team Info Meeting:

Any 6th, 7th, or 8th-grade GIRLS and BOYS interested in joining the Hoover Bucs Mountain Bike (MTB) Team, please come to our Information Meeting on Monday, September 22 from 6pm - 7pm at the Hoover High School back parking lot (look for our team tent). Our upcoming racing Season is fast approaching, and we’re excited for another fun-filled Season! So, if you want to ride your mountain bike through the woods on single track trails over rocks/roots and other surprises with your teammates and other teams, then please come to the meeting to hear all about our upcoming season and what we’re all about, and how to join the team! If you can’t make the meeting or have any questions, email Coach David Crossman at hooverbucsmtb@gmail.com.

Attendance Information

Attendance Matters Every Day Mrs. Rush - 2nd floor This year, parents are still required to physically sign parent notes and may not use an e-signature. Parents can submit the signed excuse either by attaching it via email (as done last year) or by attaching it using ParentSquare. Simply replying to the "your student has been marked absent" alert will not suffice unless the parent note or doctor note is attached. Please remember to provide a handwritten note with your signature or a doctor's excuse within 3 days of their return to school.
Attendance Reminders: Please email bumpusattendance@hoover.k12.al.us or call (205) 439-2268 concerning all attendance issues. ● Turn in notes WITHIN 3 DAYS OF ABSENCE in the gray boxes or to Mrs. Rush. ● Notes CAN BE EMAILED as long as there is a signature to: bumpusattendance@hoover.k12.al.us ● ONLY 9 PARENT EXCUSED absences per year ● Anticipated Absence Forms must be turned in AT LEAST 3 DAYS PRIOR to the absence
