A message from our Principal

Bumpus Family--

We ROCKED our first whole week of school. Students are getting into a routine, and we have fewer and fewer students each day missing the bus to go home. Our goal is for everyone to get on their bus on Monday!

On Tuesday, August 19th, we will have an Open House. If your child is in band or choir, they will host a meeting first at 5:15. Please see the attached schedule for the rest of the evening. Parents will meet with administrators in the gym, and parents will walk their child's schedule and meet their teachers. Please have your child show you their schedule by class period in Power School so that you are prepared. We will run the classes A-G. The PE classes will meet in the cafeteria. Open House Link

Please DO NOT park on Flemming Pkwy for the Open House. We will open the side lot (car rider side) for parents to park. 

On Aug 19th and 20th, we will be doing our I-Ready diagnostic. The testing times on Tues and Weds are from 8:44 am-10:22 am. If you can help, please do not check your child out at this time. That will prevent them from having to do the make-up diagnostic on Thursday.

Parents of walkers, please remember that parking in the neighborhood by the fire station (Langston Ford Dr) on Stadium Trace is not allowed.

Join Hope For Autumn This School Year

The Hope for Autumn Junior Board is open to high school students and middle school students who are passionate about making a difference in the lives of children battling cancer. As a member, you'll have the opportunity to help lead fundraising efforts, participate in service projects, and develop leadership skills while working alongside peers who care about giving back. Applications are open now for the 2025–2026 school year!

BUCS Serve- Community Service Information

In an effort to keep to our Bumpus Core Values of responsibility and integrity-- only students can access the sign-up form using their HCS email. Parents, please have your student sign up for their community service dates and discuss when they can serve with you.
If you missed the Information Meeting– Please join the Bucs Serve Google Classroom and find out how to join us to serve. Join our BUCS Serve Google Classroom in order to participate: osuzb6c If you attended the meeting– join the Google Classroom if you have not done so AND turn your orange contracts into the Red Basket outside of A122 or put them in Mrs. Burbridge/Mrs. Stanton’s mailboxes in the 1st Floor Teacher Workroom.

Attendance Information

Attendance Matters Every Day Mrs. Rush - 2nd floor This year, parents are still required to physically sign parent notes and may not use an e-signature. Parents can submit the signed excuse either by attaching it via email (as done last year) or by attaching it using ParentSquare. Simply replying to the "your student has been marked absent" alert will not suffice unless the parent note or doctor note is attached. Please remember to provide a handwritten note with your signature or a doctor's excuse within 3 days of their return to school.
Attendance Reminders: Please email bumpusattendance@hoover.k12.al.us or call (205) 439-2268 concerning all attendance issues. ● Turn in notes WITHIN 3 DAYS OF ABSENCE in the gray boxes or to Mrs. Rush. ● Notes CAN BE EMAILED as long as there is a signature to: bumpusattendance@hoover.k12.al.us ● ONLY 9 PARENT EXCUSED absences per year ● Anticipated Absence Forms must be turned in AT LEAST 3 DAYS PRIOR to the absence
