A message from our Principal

Bumpus Family--

Can you believe we are in November? I hope everyone enjoys their extra hour of sleep.

Attention Parents of Walkers: I want to clarify a few points to prevent accidents and keep student safety our top priority.
  • Crossing guards are on duty from 7:30 am to 8:15 am to help students cross. If your student arrives before or after this time frame, please walk with your child. Please tell them to wait for the crossing guard if they arrive before 7:30 am.
  • Motorized bikes/scooters must NOT be ridden on campus after school between 3:30 pm and 4 pm. ALL students on motorized bikes/scooters will be asked to walk their bikes/scooters on and off campus. We have had way too many close calls of students almost getting hurt. The crossing guards will tell them when they can ride their bikes/scooters.
  • Hoover PD just released some information about motorized modes of transportation on their Facebook page. It has some valuable information.
Our Veterans’ Day Program is November 9th. The 6th-grade program will be at 8:45 am, and the 7th- and 8th-grade programs will be at 1 pm. Please see the graphic below for more information.

We will not have school on November 11th in observance of Veterans Day.

The Book Fair starts Monday, November 2nd. If your students want to participate, you must use Scholastic Wallet. We do not accept cash, checks, or credit cards. Email Mrs. Mims if you have any questions. dmims@hoover.k12.al.us.

As always, there are many things going on at the school, so please read through the whole newsletter.

If you have any questions, feel free to email me at afordham@hoover.k12.al.us

With Pride,
Dr. Andrea Fordham
