A message from our Principal

Bumpus Family--

Whew! What a week! We finished it off with a great field day on Friday. Then, Friday night and Saturday, we were able to celebrate the arts! Our theatre department put on an amazing show, and our art students exhibited their work on Saturday afternoon. So much to be proud of!

Many of you have asked about Awards Day. It will be May 18th, and you will receive a message by May 12th if your child will be receiving an award. We made some changes this year to the criteria for some awards. A committee of teachers has put a lot of thought into this process.
Here are the times:
8:45-10 = 6th grade
10:30-11:45 = 8th grade
1-2:15 = 7th grade

We will be taking our final I-Ready Diagnostics on Monday and Tuesday this week.

This week, we will also be celebrating Mental Health Awareness Week. All counselors hold a special place in my heart. I wrote my dissertation school counselors and mental health in schools. We will kick off the week by wearing GREEN on Monday because we all have the green light to ask for help. Please see the graphic below for more information on the week.

It is also Teacher Appreciation Week! We have the best of the best at Bumpus! I cannot thank them enough for all that they do each day.

We will also be celebrating our school nurses on Wednesday!

On Tuesday, we will send our AAS students to the first-ever Hoover Champion Games! This will be very special!

Feel free to call or email me if you have any questions.

With Pride,
Dr. Andrea Fordham

Notes from the Nurse

Dear Parents/Guardians,

The end of the school year requires some housekeeping tasks throughout the school. The health room is no exception.

An adult will be required to pick up any medications that your child may have in the health room, unless your child has specific written permissions to carry the medication on their person. Medications should be picked up by noon on Thursday, May 21, 2026 Any medications left at school will be destroyed after this deadline. No exceptions.
